Forking around with Facebook API
Posted By Chris on 01/03/2011 22:45

Every month, more than 250 million people engage with Facebook on external websites and Facebook has become one of the leading social platforms for sharing interwebs and advertising too.

Given it's popularity (they even made a film) and the fact that my customers are now looking to use Facebook for marketing their sites I thought it was about time I messed around with some of it's features.

I have created options for integration directly via my Liquidus CMS framework, thats why all these like buttons and irrelevant Facebook posts have started appearing on my site!

You can read more interesting and quite frankly shocking stats on the Facebook site;

Thanks for reading.

late night coder
Posted By Chris on 15/10/2010 00:55

Here we go again, another late night to add to the long list of late nights this year..

I have been working on some quite advanced calendar systems this evening using some of the new data types in SQL Server 2008, which I have found very handy indeed!  The new Time() data type is very useful for managing just the time element of a datetime in a 24 hour clock styley.  Very useful, works well with timespans in .Net too.

Shame Microsoft didnlt standardise on the FirstDayOfWeek elements between SQL and .Net.  I know this can be changed programatically for both but SQL seeds at 1 and .Net at 0 regradless, go figure.

You asked folk to comment on any typos? You have one in "withy" or summat like that on this page. Excuse if that is not 100% accurate as I can`t see the previous page now I`m filling in this form!

My new personal website is live!

It's seems like years ago now since I last created a site for myself. Although this site is pretty basic and didn't take too much work to develop it's been kind of fun to work on something for myself for a change, even if it is still just work really!

Let me know what you think and if you spot any typo's please do let me know!
